what PPD should i expect from my system ?

i think ozaudio mentioned 40,000 PPD for my GPU alone.

but folding is only saying 9000 PPD .. was 11,000 this morning.

how does it work ?

have i got it setup right ?

BIFFA ! :D ?

The folding v7 client is often inaccurate. I usually waited to see the EOC stats. But then EOC shows an average based on a few days of crunching, so you really need to look at the individual three hourly returns.

You get more points once a few WU's (10?) have been returned from a client, without error. Then you get the bonus stuff.. But in the week before I turned this cruncher not on to folding, my PPD had dropped a lot despite CPU and GPU together, and I suspect there were some dodgy WUs about?

If you look in windoze task manager, are all your CPU cores working at 100%? Similarly have you got anything that can tell if your GPU is near 100%, and using it's 3D power? The folding logs may confirm if the GPU is crunching core 17 type WUs. If it isn't have you set any client-type flags such as advanced or even beta?

my cpu is running at 100%
my gpu isnt though, its moving between 60 and 80%.

i have just clocked my gpu to 1050/1450 aswell :D lol, thats just with CCC though.

need to clock it properly :)

Make sure you have advmethods on for your gpu to get the higher scoring projects and the new Core 17 application.
You can test FahCore 17 by adding the "client-type = advanced" setting into the extra core options in the V7 client, as in the Configuration FAQ.

Also make sure on the CPU options you have it set to use all cores, can't hurt setting client-type to advanced there either.

Oh and make sure you have a passkey or you won't get the bonus points

where do i get the new core 17 app from biffa ?, cant seem to find it anywhere :/

the one im using at the moment is 7.3.6. is that the right one ?

because i cant find advmethods pn it anywhere neither can i find the other option you gave me.

7.3.6 is the current folding software for the PC.

core 17 is the WU format and necessary stuff for that will be autodownloaded by the folding software, if you get a GPU WU on the core 17 format. If you have the client-type advanced flag set for the GPU slot, you should get core 17 WUs, although sometimes you need to give it a helping hand and go client-type beta, albeit that flag should really only be used by folding's beta testers.

OK, the application is downloaded by the client depending on what type of project the client thinks that the hardware can handle. You don't manually need to do anything.

First, apologies, the link to the FAQ was incorrect its here

But basically this is what you want to do:

Right click on the folding icon in the notification area of the taskbar and click on "Advanced Control"

You should get the following screen

Then click on the "Configure" button and the "Identity" tab you get this

Fill in your details and put your passkey here.

Then click on the "Slots" Tab and you'll see something like this

Highlight the gpu slot and then click "Edit" and you will get a screen like this:

Click "Add" and enter the following details

You should end up with it looking like this:

Then you can click "OK" and do the same to the CPU slot, save your way back out of the Configuration to the main screen, and the next time you download a WU you should get the right ones. :)

just tried it now, seems pretty good.

gives back a lot of info and give you screenies of everything once you stop it or it finishes.

my clock didnt bsod with it so must be ok :)

just a couple of examples.

Yes I must admit I got a bit curious too and had a play :p

What you did is the normal CPU stability test, you want to select the GPU:3D tab, and enable the "error checking" option (but I don't know about the memory one that appears below that, I left that as default).

Might be fun to push clocks up until you get errors so you know how much headroom you've got?
