What printer

Might be better off asking this in the General Hardware section - since the Mac works almost all printers, especially a big name such a Canon. I personally use an All In One HP printer, PSC1350, good printer for my everyday work and the odd photograph at various size.
To be honest, I found stand alone picture printers better in terms of quality than my All in one HP but I use the printer for almost everything, so I stuck with the all in one and use Photo Processing digital picture "vending machines" instead.
£0.30 each isn't that bad when the quality of prints are awesomer

Take a look at the Canon Pixma MP520 for an all-in-one and the Canon ip4500 if youre after a stand alone. Theyve both got v.gd reviews.
I'll second that for the IP5000.
