I need a new processor as I feel its holding my build back.

I currently have a Core 2 Duo E6850 3GHz would this be holding my spec back?

OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666 RAM
3 x GTX 280's in SLI
Asus Striker 2 Extreme Mobo
Cosair 1000w power supply
2 x 74GB Raptors in Raid 0
All Watercooled

Will a quad make a big difference in gaming over the duo ?

BTW im running the duo at 3.6Ghz, also would you see the processor as the bottle neck ?

managed to get 3.9GHz out of it in the end and managed to play crysis for 3 hours without any problem.

So the question is does l2 cache and quad cores make any difference in current games, no interested in benchmarks just playing games

Well not really happy with the performance in Crysis, even at 3.9GHz at full res with everything on very high on the 30inch Dell it won't run smoothly, but I hear lots of people have trouble unless they get some extreme edition quads.
