what program is making folders within my imap emails?

for one of my email accounts, i have the folders named after the year so 2020, 2021, 2022. when it gets to the new year, i put the last year folder into the archive, however this year, something keeps recreating the 2021 folder in my inbox and i don't know what.

is there a way to find out which program has done it?

i currently have the email account accessed through outlook, postbox, 2 email apps on android.

If it were me, I would choose 1 machine as the master and set the folders the way you want, delete all the other machines accounts then remake them from the master. That way they’ll pick up what the master folder structure is.

What I mean is you select 1 method of access to the email account , let’s say outlook and delete the accounts off all other machines and phones.

Then use outlook only to organise all your folders the way you want. So it becomes the master so to speak.

once in order, start recreating the accounts in the other programs and devices, they should then pick up what folder layout you set in outlook.

There isn’ta way of setting a master all the time, you’re just resetting the accounts basically.
