Hi there,

I have programs to play my music and edit the tags.

I now need a program/programs to encode music from MP3/WMA to AAC.

I also want to consolidate my music. So that it puts all my music in to seperate folders based on artist and album in the "My Music" folder.

What do you suggest. I am hoping there are some free programs out there.

Thanks...

Just don't do it. Converting from one lossy format to another is never a good thing to do quality wise.

I am not an audiophille so I don't really notice the loss in quality tbh

Does it matter? You're still planning on making a pointless conversion. There is absolutely no point in converting MP3/WMA to AAC.

Lol.....yeah i know, I have just uninstalled iTunes, because i want to get away from it, and I don't like the fact that you have to have quicktime to use it as quicktime is so awful at playing movies in a browser.

The conversion is because my iTunes phone is really peadantic (sp?) with MP3 files and some just don't play but can play AAC no troubles....so I have always converted them. Also AAC is compressed more in to a smaller file (only 80GB HDD)

If you have to then try something like dBpowerAMP, the MP3 encoder supposedly stops working after 30 days, it says nowt about the decoding side of things though.
