as stated in the title what programs do people use and for how long?

i have msi kombuster and run the gpu burn in test is this a good program for stress testing? and how long should i run it to find how stable the new overclock is?
i also see there is a xtreme burn in option to tick which comes up with unlocking powerdraw should you use this or?

i want to stress test my 6850 at 960/1160 on stock volts is this too optimistic!? had it running 930/1130 fine. or will i see no gains?

sorry for the million questions

I've seen varying results with different programs myself.

FurMark for example, is a very extreme test that doesn't really do what a game would be doing. You get so much fluctuation in use in games rater than benchmarks.

My card won't pass a simple Heaven bench past scene 8 on many settings, but will run games fine for hours no problem on those same settings.

Anything that runs a loop of various things without loading screens is a good test. Or alternatively just play the games you normally play, if you don't mind them crashing every now and then.

I tried to play metro 2033 on the 960/1160 And it crashed so gonna take that as a no no gonna stick with the previous 930/1130 I'm at home and just want to tinker which is generally a bad thing! Lol
Do u get much gains when playing with voltage or? Not too keen on this as could do some damage which I do not want to do.
I suppose anything I do now isn't going to make it any better in game (this is all I care about don't. Are about bench scores)

BF3 tbh.
I had metro benchmark with everything on for 2 hours running loop with no crash at 990mhz clock. Went to play BF3 and it crashed in 30 minutes lolz
Same for Furmark. I can run it all day long stable .... Its only good for quick check of gpu temps tbh.

MSI Kombustor / Furmark is a good indication for quick stability, will show artifacting pretty much straight away, It also runs your GPU way hotter than it will ever get in real world usage.

But I mainly use Heaven 3 with all on max, if it can run this for a few hours it'll run anything.
