Hi all,

I have a small pc i use for Plex and to store documents. Spec:
Bitfenix colossus itx case
1 x Samsung ssd
1x 2tb had (should maybe replace its ancient and has broke before!)
Biostar J3060 on board deletion
4gb so-dimm (that’s what it takes)

my old psu was a 550w coolermaster I think, i was testing it in a friends pc pre lockdown,as theey had a suspected faulty psu.

thought I’d be without it a week! Anyway until I eventually get it back....

is this ok:

I know psus are most effective at a certain draw I’m just not sure what power the system uses. Very low I suspect. With getting my psu back eventually I don’t want to spend lots. (Yes I know the issues you can get wit cheap psus, hence asking)

TLDR:
Cheap psu recommendation for low power media server.

thanks all!

If you want a cheap PSU, get a used FSP unit from ebay as the 300 or so watt units go for around £10-20 depending on the form factor (budget builds on youtube recommends them over the tat like what you've linked to)

Thanks! that confirmed my suspicion on the cheapies, got a FSP one, seen the small £8 ones but went for a slightly bigger unit, think it was 300 watt for around £15. Installed everything running and very very quiet.

Happy! thanks for the advice. Also that budget builds is good!
