What PSU for my New System

Q9550 will be overclocking to around 3.6ghz
4gb ddr2 800mhz ram
gtx 280
antec 1200 case
dvd rewriter
500gb HDD 7200rpm
wireless card
sound card
vista

and thats about it

i was thinking i needed 700w for that?
maybe more? can anybody help me

Corsair HX620, although you might be safe with a HX520.

Going by a review, the total system power (including an overclocked quad core) and a gtx 280 uses 332 watts. So yes, 700w is too much.

You don't need 700w but a Psu isnt as efficient if it has to work and harder and is also louder. I would get a crosair 620

Well, if a system used 332w and the PSU was 520w then thats only 64% used. The 620 would be 53%, although I am not sure in which case would have the best efficiency?

Probably the same. Psu's tend to be most efficient in the 40-70% band.
