What psu is better?

They are no doubt both very good units.

It'll be almost an impossible question to answer much of which will end up which pros and cons appeal to you.

Just pick whichever you like the look of.

The Corsair HX1200i now has a 10 year warranty. Corsair upgraded a lot of it's models to 10 years a couple of years ago and I don't believe that the description on here was ever updated. Other retailers and Corsair themselves list it as 10 years. If you really need 1200w (must be a beast of a system) then I would save some money and go for the non i HX1200. This Corsair link software is a gag in my opinion. People shouldn't be playing around with psu fan speed and messing around with rails. Just buy a normal psu and let it do it's thing. What on earth are you powering to need 1200w?

Both units would serve you just as well. As budforce has said pick with ever one looks better to you. Also interested in what you are powering for 1200w psu :)

Thanks for the advice. Ended up getting the evga P2.

As for what it's for, its totally overkill, just building a new rig when the amd cpu's land with 3080 and hoping that somewhere further down the line I can have a multi card system for some high refresh 4k gaming, even if its not 3080s as from what I've seen nvidia are killing off sli, but from some reviews it worked quite well on older games that supported it.
Just wanna be ready for whatever comes along I guess, as I normally keep my rigs years just replacing gfx cards as and when needed.
