What PSU should I buy?

So I have a small ITX case and I believe my current PSU is about call it a day at any moment, so I'm looking to upgrade it.

My current computer consist of: Ryzen 5 1600 (looking to upgrade to either Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 3800 soon), AB350 mobo (looking to upgrade shortly), Nvidia 1070ti mini, 500gb Samsung SSD, 2x 8gb Night Hawk 3000hz.

So I need something that'll fit my case, but also be suitable for future upgrades.

Brilliant. Thank you for the heads up with CPU and other info.

Can anybody agree with EsaT or recommend a different one before I pull the trigger?

Your case supports PSU Clearance 170mm which gives you a lot more options.

Check the specs in the link you provided.

The Phanteks amps are quality units .

It's not just the physical size of the psu that needs to be taken into account when buying one for use in a size constrained case, you also need to allow extra for the modular connections and the amount of cable sticking out even with the tightest of bends. Modular connectors can easily add a extra 10-20mm and even with a tight bend the 24 pin cable is going to stick out another 30mm+. If you are not using that hdd cage at the front and can remove it then there is no problem but if you are using it you need to be really careful and personally I would measure the actual space between the rear of the case and the rear end of that hdd cage to doubly make sure. If it's tight or just will not fit the psu+connector+first part of the cable then you are better off going for a SFF psu.

Top man - thank you. I'll give this a measure when I get in.

superflower have announced the leadex v as a small psu 1000w, 850w, 750w, 650w all of them are - 130mm(L) x 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) but only have a 5 years warranty apparently. not sure when release date is either but should be soon by the sounds of it

At the moment overall PSU availability is such that there's no sense to wait for something unsure to become stocked.

Would the Phanteks AMP 750w be better than or on par with my current Super Flower Leadex 850w from 2014? I am still hearing the random buzzing noise of electrical sparks so want to change it sooner rather than later!

Kind of gave up PSU shopping the other week when I saw nothing that seemed decent was priced well or in stock :/ I paid £99 at ocuk for the Leadex back in 2014!

Really? That's great to hear so I will raise a thread in the customer sub forum and see what's what!

Ta.

I will probably buy the 750 AMP anyway and just deal with the warranty on this one then put it on MM or something when the replacement arrives.

Usually 7 year warranty on superflower leadtek , good luck.

Didn't even realise it was that high from that long ago. Have created thread so will await someone from ocuk to respond tomorrow!
