What PSU Wattage do i need?

Hi,

i have some corsair 650W PSU which was sold as "Super Silent". but its so damn loud, i cant sleep in the same room with it running. Its really crap.

but a truly Silent psu runs into about £60+ for 650W.


so now im wondering do i really need 650W? check my spec below. what should be sufficent?
 
Not really, your system would run fine on a decent 450W~ PSU as you have built a pretty efficient system for the sort of performance it would give you.

I would only recommend going for a bigger PSU if you plan to run dual GFX cards or plan to run loads of HDDs.

Got to be honest though your Corsair PSU shouldn't be loud unless it is being overloaded (unlikely) or the fan control is faulty.
 
Ive checked reviews on other websites and just about every one said it was noisey. it doesnt seem to have any fan control at all. it was £40 anyway. Oh and its not a corsair lol, its a Cooler Master eXtreme Power Duo 650w (RP-650-PCAP).

ill see what i can get for it on ebay
