I am just about to go on a crossphire system... so a new psu is needed.

My first choice was Enermax Liberty 620
Reason, My enermax 430 gives more watts on 12v than 520 Hiper

2nd choice a hiper 580 type-r (good price but out of stock)

opinions? options?

I'd personally go for:

Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply (CA-002-SS)

or

Tagan TG600-U25 600W ATX2.0 Dual Engine Silent SLi Compliant Silent PSU (CA-013-TG)

or

OCZ GameXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply (CA-018-OC)

All are meant to be very good other options from the two you chose .

id also go with seasonic tagan and fsp although they can be abit loud at times if you are going to use crossfire then you need around a 600w, i personally wouldnt touch the hiper with a barge pole as i had 2 of them blow up and numerous people i know have had the same problem

Hmm opinions quite evenly spread... nice topic for o pole ;)

Seasonic look a good deal... fear price and intel support give u a bit o breathing space in case u decide to "change sides" in the future...

as most ppl have lately... traitors :p (just kidding)

I am making my first step of treason going from nvidia to Ati
sorry Nvidia, it was my Mastercards fault :p

Hmm enermax still sounds strong in my head

tnx all

my Hiper 580 type r went in first 2 weeks, awaiting an RMA but of course I can't afford to be without PC so ordered a tagen 600, let you know how it goes.

if your using a DFI Lanparty range i suggest the Tagan over the Seasonic 600w silent.
i have had 4 and all of them undervolt on a cold bootup (ableit my newer one is better), but then DFI lanparties do use above normal volts when you cold boot. Normal running no problems at all, but just something from personal experience you may want to keep in mind before buying one.
I borowed a Tagan from a friend, and no problems at all.

maybe im just unlucky, but searching dfi-street it is most definitely not a iscolated incident
