What PSU?

Hi all. I'm doing a bit of an upgrade over the next few weeks and would like some opinions on what PSU to get. Money is quite tight - but I can spend whatever is needed, it'll just take me longer to pay it off the card.

It'll need to run a Q6600 at 3.6ghz, 2 x 750gb Samsung spinpoint f1, 512mb 8800gt.

The rig in my sig is currently being run by a 480w antec neo power but its 3 years old now so needs replacing.

I was thinking of a Corsair HX520 as it seems to be a favorite at the moment amongst the community and reviewers, but can I get the same functionality for cheaper?

Noise isn't an issue as my PC has its own room, I'd like it to have enough output for me to be able to use it for 2-3 years again so it needs some breathing space... Any suggestions??

Just to check, is your PSU causing any issues? While it will be less efficient than when it was brand new that wouldn't automatically make me upgrade.

The HX 520w is a good choice, another couple of suitable options would be the PCP & Cooling 610w at ~£70 also or at the lower end of the scale the Akasa Paxpower 500w at ~£50.

I believe its causing issues at the moment. The rails can be very unstable, particularly after its been under load for a few hours of gaming, it causes random crashes on an otherwise totally stable overclock. I dont know for sure but the cpu is prime stable for over 24hrs, the graphics card is fine in my friends machine and I have slowed the memory and loosened its timings to rule that out. I'm pretty certain its down to the PSU, as the 12v rail in particular drops as low as 10.2 after a while gaming.

Since I'm upgrading to a more power hungry gpu I figured I'd better do an upgrade. I'm going to look at that PCP&C one now
