Im currently in the process of building a higher end system based around a phenom 2 955

I need a new psu but im a tad unsure as which one to get, im not going to get a blistering graphics card, i'll probably just stay mid range, but i want a psu that'll futureproof me is situations change, overclocking crossfire mode etc??

looking to spend around the £100 mark would be really appreciative of an advice especially from anyone with a similar rig.

Thanks in advance

Anyone reading this, thinking that £100 is too much, just remember that every other component in the PC relies on the PSU to provide well regulated, stable and enough power. A PC with a cheap power supply will not be stable and could potentially damage other components in the system.

Get the basics right and build upon it. I have been impressed with my PC Power and Cooling PSU. I'm not sure what the current models are, but it seems well built, where as a cheaper Akasa PSU I had was thin and wouldn't overclock my x1950 as well at the time.

i bought the seasonic m12d 850w. Well built, good temps and stable power. Has mix of hard wired (reliability) as well as inc optional modular cables for future needs.

Little over budget, might be worth seeing if overclockers will price match then won't be much over....

£100 IS too much. a decent psu at £60-£70 would do him just fine.

Really appreciative about the feedback just doing some measuring up, my case is an old skool sonata 2 so im sure they'll both fit fine

would the added length of the pcpower 750 be awkward???
