Looking for a psu. Looking at some point to power a 5850 then a 5950 + 5850 in crossfire! Also will over clock a i7 920. Would want long cables if possible. Should I be looking for a 1000w? what would have long cables?

+1 for the antec. But i cant fault my OCZ psu either, plus its abit stylish with its graphics on the side of the PSU if you have a window in your case :)

5970 shows about 340 and 5850 240 so is almost 600w under load

which would be the complete system draw with each card, a 5850 wont use 240w its self , 750w is plenty.

340watts includes a i7 system, 240w includes the same system, you can't add the figures up like that, you wont be running two i7 chips and motherboards and ram.

If your going to run that sort of hardware at full load 24/7 just go for a effienct PSU around the 650w + area. Take the time to do your own research and buy to your budget not someone elses.

OcUK now do a own brand 850w dual rail, modular PSU (out of stock at the mo!) but it's well priced and will do the job that your speccing for.

If the cables are not long enough initially or after nice tidy cable routing just source extensions that are freely available from various sources.

ATB :)
