Not had to pick one of these up for years so have lost touch, last I had was a Dell unit, never impressed with the management software for then so am looking at other brands, plus apparently dell can't source the batteries anymore!

Looking for anythint 3-4U anything between 5000-10000 capacity.

What are you using?

Thanks will take a look, it'll be supporting a 4-8 node Nutanix cluster, with 4 switches and 2 firewall.

The software for auto shutdown on the APC units good?

I've always considered the basic implementation a bit lacking, it will do the job but I always feel like they could do more - however if needed you can use an upgraded version of PowerChute or other software like that with most of them so options are there.

I generally tend towards recommending APC - even though I've encountered issues with the odd model. End of the day they've been doing it a long time.

APC are good. Chances are you can get the batteries you need for your Dell UPS though, just not from Dell.

That was my initial thought but trying to get hold of them appears to be a nightmare. Dell essentially don't service tag the UPS units, they can't locate the device via its actual serial in order to quote for new batteries for it.

Only tried one other supplier but I've been chasing around that much now I've pretty much given up!

If it's the UPS that had ReadyRails which for some reason never caught on then I'm pretty sure Eaton built them for Dell.

We've got 3 of the Eaton 9SX 6000i at work - no issues and generally offer slightly more Wattage than the equivalent VA APC's.
