can get them both around the same price, is the Viper supposed to be better? (or it just a fancy name?)

Well the Viper is 7-7-7-18 compared to the others 9-9-9-24, so that's quite a difference.

It would also indicate that the Viper has a fair bit of overclocking left in it.
