5070 ti (already got)
9800x3d CPU (planning to get)
850w PSU (already got)
Deep Rock Pro 4 CPU cooler (already got)
B850m Mobo (planning to get)
Case fans (already got)
NVME (already got)

Was just looking for advice on what speed RAM I should be looking at? I assume 2 x 16gb will still be more than fine for a build that will be used for gaming and some work (Microsoft Office).

Thanks

Yep, 2 x 16GB will be fine and you want C30 and 6000mhz ram. You also want to make sure its EXPO (Not XMP which is for Intel systems). You may need more than 32GB of ram if you plan on playing any games with mods or loads of mods

When I built my 9800X3D system I got this ram, it was also on the motherboards QVL list

Some cheaper ram here, it all depends if you want RGB as well (another reason why I went with the above ram as hate RGB)

Same ram as above but in white and on pre order though

i'd go with this, no point paying the extra £15 or so (and no rgb) just for the corsair branding

The Teamgroup 6000c30 ram above has both expo and xmp profiles, and cheaper than the kingston
Interesting.

No mention of EXPO on Overclockers so I checked Teamgroup website which states .

Memory kits labeled "Support Intel XMP 3.0" only include XMP Profiles. Kits labeled "Support AMD EXPO" only include EXPO Profiles. Kits labeled "COMBINATION Intel XMP/AMD EXPO" include both XMP and EXPO Profiles.

bottom of the page:

Profile
  • 8200 MHz↑ Intel XMP 3.0
  • 8000 MHz↓ Intel XMP 3.0 / AMD EXPO

but i agree, as clear as mud

edit: user review on the ocuk page (if you believe/trust these) also confirms expo settings available
