I am going to be building a PC soon and I am wondering which ram I should get.

I am getting the Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mother board and I will be using the PC for ripping blu-rays,gaming and some Photoshopping.

The memory specs for the mobo are : 4 x DIMM, Max. 32 GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)*/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture

Should I get: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=8&subid=1517 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-059-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387

Is there going to be much of a difference?

I would suggest going for this kit or if you feel the need for 8GB (photoshop could make use of this) then I would go with this kit.

I would strongly suggest against going for the second kit you post up - £84 is heck of a lot of money for a 4GB kit - no matter how high frequency it is.

As for the real-world performance of faster RAM kits with sandy bridge systems - have a look at this review.

Agree with the commander above (evenin' andi) - the xms3 is great quality/value memory and more than adequate for your basic needs.

Allo Plec - good to see you again :)

To the OP: when you are choosing RAM it is also a good idea to take into account clearance issues with large CPU coolers if you are using one. Kits like the ripjaw can have issues with some coolers due to their protruding heatsinks, but with low-profile kits (like the XMS3) you know you are safe to use massive coolers - up to and including the Thermalright Silver Arrow.

all nice ram tht ppl who gave links, but ram is ram if it dont work u can always send it bk so if ure having to budget buy the cheapest ram from overclockers u can find at the speed u want 4gb kits are great an u can upgrade later to anuvva 4gb as most mobos have 4slots :) upgrade equalls anuvva 4gb to give 8gb in total sorted bud :)
