What RAM to get?

Right, I've just upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 on my relatively old system which only has 1GB of ram. (2 x 512MB). I've noticied that my RAM usage is around 700-800mb constantly so I've decided to upgrade.

Been looking around and I think I've found one that looks decent in price etc:

Crucial 1GB DDR 400MHz/PC3200 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL3 Lifetime Warranty.

Was just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions before I buy this.

Chears.

Vista chews up memory so you need as much as you can afford. 2Gb would be a start but as you have 64bit then 4Gb would be better. On the other hand your rig is getting on now and DDR is very expensive compared to DDR2. I would'nt be throwing money at a rig that old unless you can get the ram very cheap.

I am surprised you even got Vista working on only 1Gb.

To be honest, Vista doesn't run too bad just on my 1GB RAM. Could run quicker obviously but I think it just needs a little bit of a boost.

Why is DDR more expensive than DDR2 anyway?

I only use this PC for Browsing the net and doing Word documents etc so I don't neeed anything powerful really. Gonna buy a laptop in a few months with 4GB so there shouldn't be a problem there ahha.
