Well guys, just a bit of advice required here
I feel as if I can get so much more out of my Intel e6300 than I am at the moment and I think its just because of my memory that I am being held back! Now that DDR2 has hit an even lower price point im pretty tempted to invest in a decent stick or two to help me push my cpu that bit further!
At the moment it is clocked @ 2.8Ghz and it is stable as at that speed! The ram I am running with it is 2x1GB DDR2 Corsair Value Select PC5300 chips and when clocking over 2.8Ghz I get stability issues, the system posts but programs begin to crash etc! The CPU is cooled with a Zalman 9500CU LED fan and idles around 31degrees at present and I feel I could get more from it! The Motherboard is DFi Infinity Black-S P965!
I have two options, I saw a stick of unbranded 2GB DDR2 800Mhz PC6400 Ram for a knockdown price just below £30 and considered getting that but then I noticed Overclockers have several deals on their Geil ram 2GB kits for around £35!
Should I take the risk on the unbranded stuff or go for the tried and tested makes? Or any other suggestions would be great guys!
