I am looking to invest in some 1066 MHz ram to go in my rig (spec below in sig) i am looking at the following 3:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR10662GK)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB22GB8500C5DC)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK)

Im wondering which is best, any people with experience with these your advice would be welcome, as would that of anyone else for that matter :)

Thanks

Hawky

Toss a coin between the OCZ and the G.Skill.

Personally I'd take the OCZ as their support forums are pretty great.

I havnt got enough money for that and it would mean waiting another month and my ram wont last that long, getting more and more lock ups :(, besides i heard there are some issues with these on asus boards

Having ordered and recieved my OCZ 2gb reaper ive put it in and set everything in the bios according to the sticker: 1066 5-5-5-15 2.1v Now if i look at Ai suite in windows it shows the ram voltage at 2.55v whats going on? which is right?

EDIT: i went back and changed the voltage in the bios to 2.0v, ai suite is showing 2.3v, tried a prime 95 run in blend and it instantly failed so im assuming the ram is unstable now at this lower voltage?

Back to 2.1v and it doesnt crash on prime so im guessing its better but after running the test just for a few mins im getting major lag, my pc has slowed down loads, my 667mhz was faster so im not sure whats going on :(

The other thing i noticed is that OcUK say that this ram should be at 2.3v what settings does anyone esle with this ram have????

ATTN!! OCZ Customers using PC2-8500 / PC2-9200 / PC2-9600 Memory Kits

If you have purchased or received one of the above mentioned kits since Jan. 1, 2008, check your ram voltage. There is no need to always run 2.3V on these kits, some kits will run just fine at 2.0 - 2.1V at their rated speed, maybe even less.

If you are currently running 2.3V through your ram, please test at lower voltages for stability. We have made a revision to the modules and high voltage is no longer necessary and could be detrimental to the health of the dimms.

Thank you.

Also try upping your NB voltage a bit to strengthen it for more than 2 sticks.

The Maximus overvolts pretty much everything other than the CPU.

Mine's set to 2.0v in BIOS, but is reading 2.13v in Everest. Experiments with a voltmeter on XS have revealed that it is probably even higher than that.

so is my ram actually getting 2.55 through it? cos a 2.0v it was saying 2.3 and that was really unstable. where in everest does it tell you the voltage? and can that be trusted?

Well no software reading can be exact, but it's considered to be pretty close.

Go by the Everest reading. It'll be roughly the same as the reading in the Hardware Monitoring section of your BIOS (nor the settings section).

after trying out various voltages i found the best one, at 2.02 hardware monitor shows 2.12 which is the closest i can get to 2.1v and stay stable in prime 95 2.00 give 2.09v in monitor but crashes instantly in p95, thanks for you help cob :)
