What registry cleaner ?

I've never had any issues with ccleaner and I've been using it for years now.

You're not going to see any performance improvements from doing it tbh

ccleaner is still a very handy tool to have, even if you don't use the registry cleaner part of it.

It can clear up gb's of space by removing 'crap' you don't need. It's one of the programs I always download after a fresh windows install :-)

If you use the right tools, you don't need a registry cleaner.

Uninstall programs with an uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller to cleanup the residue many uninstallers seem to leave behind. If I want to make sure I am doing a clean install of video drivers and want to cleanup the old driver, I use a program like Driver Sweeper.

yeh do these even work

They work, there can be a lot of orphaned registry keys left in the registry but they have no noticeable impact on performance. The problem is that sometimes the cleaners can be a bit overzealous and delete important entries which can result in software not working or even a non-booting OS.
