I've had similar problems with mine, with coretemp reporting my temps @ 51C idle, but if I go into BIOS it reads it as 43C idle :| Try reseating the CPU as it may have just got a bad contact and see if that makes a difference.

Ignore what the BIOS or software says initially - they can be quite inaccurate. Run CoreTemp or TAT, and let it tell you the proper temperature. It should be a ~5-10c higher than a correct BIOS temperature. If the BIOS temperature falls within that bracket, then you're fine.

A 60c Core temp is quite common for an overclocked system, so I wouldn't worry if it's around that.

not done any overclocking yet though...

reseated the cpu (bloody fidly getting a ninja off) and re-applied the AS5 but temps are still idling around 57-60 on TAT and core-temp.

i got no idea what to do now

maybe sum bios things i need to sort? only thing i changed on the bios was time + date... wasnt sure about anything else tbh so didnt want to fiddle too much

just reseated my CPU again and reapplied the thermal paste...again, now showing 39'C idle on both cores :D now im even more chuffed heh.

thx for the replies folks, gunna whack on 3dmarks06 and see how the score looks, couldnt even get over 1/2fps on my last computer so quit it lol, bbs with a score i hope :)

5451

not a bad score i think?? the cpu tests went a little bit slow, getting 1/2 fps @ most, what may cause that?

anyhow, start reading the overclocking stuff now i think :)

*EDIT* just got a 29second 1M Super_Pi that good?
