I've always been a fan of Knoppix to help me out of any emergency OS situations.

Last year I found Crunchbang Linux #! (but only used it as a playground) and was also told about Ultimate Boot CD. After reading someone on here recommend Linux Mint, I know these mediums can get outdated and figured I'd put out this question.

So, OcUK what Boot CD do you use for rescue purposes?

Ive used hirens, powermix has some very nice programs like registry rollback but its mainly good for xp systems.

Idealy would be great to have one with Kaspersky bootscan/Avira scan/Superantispyware and Malwarebytes scan just to rescue from bug ridden stuff !

i know hirens has malwarebytes built into its miniXP part of the disk. but not sure about the others. i love the miniXP feature :D

i've noticed the 10.5 CD now contains a mini linux too but not tried that yet.

I use a USB version of the Ultimate Boot CD.

Had to use it last weekend and everything went OK.
