What resolution for ATV2?

I am just about pulling my hair out here .

I have ATV2 and a load of DVDs that I want to rip so I can play them on it.

Problem is I can't seem to choose the right resolution so that the picture fills the screen. There is always two black lines down the sides.

I have tried several programs: Handbrake, DVDx, WinX DVD Ripper (platinum version).

Could it just be my TV? Or what am I doing wrong?

Tried selecting the Apple TV output format in Handbrake? Makes it nice and easy. Oh and wrong forum.

My TV is already set to full screen but it does nothing.

Is it a 16:9 disc, or does your DVD player stretch the DVD to fit?

What I mean is, have you encoded it wrong (as a 4:3 file), or have you done it right, but the ATV2 is not stretching the picture to fill the screen?

As mentioned above, there are presets for Handbrake.. click the Apple TV2 one
