What Router for Sky?

Thats all well and good, but it's beside the point if I have a booked in appointment isn't it?

But I'm more confused about the whole LLU deal. If the lines have been unbundled from BT, why are Sky relying on BT?

BT openreach engineer is still who checks the line/cabling etc upto and into your main telephone point despite being with Sky

Sky have equipment at the exchange but the lines/engineers etc are all still in the hands of BT.

i had a BT engineer out to check my line/cabling when I had a few problems with sky - guy was brand new - did some rewiring outside. Remember if the problem lies internally in your house, i.e any point passed your main junction box - then it's your problem and not BT/skys.

I do remember randomly that the BT engineer took 5 sugars in his tea!!!!:eek:

That noise margin is massive, When I rang Sky to find out if I had the best speed my line could handle after DLM they said they aim to get the noise margin as close to 7db as possible.

Mines currently sat at 8.2db, There is definitely a fault of some kind, Is this using the router Sky sent you? Tried different filters? Test socket?

Have you been in contact with Tier 2 support at Sky or just the basic support?

Tier2. Using the sky router, and the equpiment supplied with it, have tested with both filters. Those readings are from the test socket, so there is obviously something horribly wrong!

Oh well that was a waste of time and an exercise in futility.

Sky have been fine about cancelling my contract and refunding everything, so it's back to Virgin and crap speeds during peak hours.
