Good afternoon Gentleman
Please could you advise which router is best for the Virgin medica 350mbps broadband service? I need good wifi coverage for the large house and also would like one which has a button on it to be able to switch wifi on and off without having to do this via the software as for half of the day i use wired only devices and need to switch the wifi off as the radiation makes my mother feel unwell.
Thanks

If it's a large house you aren't going to get a single box that'll cover it properly.

Look at the mesh systems that are available e.g. Google Wi-Fi.

If you're willing to run Ethernet cables around the house you could install some wireless access points.

You could also use Wi-Fi enabled Powerline adapters.

For your mother tell just tell her that it's switched off. Otherwise, it's fairly common to be able to set predefined on-off periods for the wireless.

thanks i am interested in the Draytek vigor 2862ac which seems to have wifi on off button and a button to choose either 2.4 or 5g or have them both on. What is the feedback like on this router?

DrayTek routers are okay but aimed towards the SME market.

You'll be paying for features you'll never need or use.

They're a bit idiocentric to configure.

Historically they haven't been famous for their wireless performance, but that might have changed. When I have bought them they've always been the versions without wireless and I've used something else for that side of things.

They are reliable routers I have quite a few running at work on Virgin Business 350 Mbps connections and they don't give me any trouble. Draytek also do Mesh WiFi AP's now if you want to extend the range.
