Well I'm getting connected on the 17th so it can't be too long before I start getting a connection so I'm now looking at what router to get with a budget of about £70, so far I've been hearing good things about the DG834GT so I'm considering that, especially as it has the custom firmware but I was also looking at the DG834PN and was wondering what would be the best one to get.

Seem to get enough wireless signal strengh in my house with my Belkin G+ MIMO router so if that helps any.

The N and PN will also run the DGTeam firmware, they're all basically the same bar wireless features, a Sky branded GT is so cheap though. I don't know how its wireless performs as I'd sooner chew my toes off than use it.

The GT supports Annex.M also and it's wireless is fine. I'm not sure why AbsenceJam has such a problem with it as a router.

Basically, if you *need* wireless N and don't mind paying an extra £60 for it, go for the PN or N models. If you'd prefer to get a router that is just as stable and well-performing as those but has 'only' wireless G then get the sky branded GT from 'an auction site'. I just picked one up for £11. Incredible value for money.

I just checked and both those routers support Annex M so I should be able to use that upload boost thing right?

All of the routers mentioned do - GT, N, PN. None of them support it any better or worse than the others.

As I've said in another thread, it's worth just getting BeUnlimited and then 'testing' BePro/upload plus (you can ask them to let you do this). You could potentially save yourself a bit of cash if your line isn't good enough to take advantage of upload plus (which would pretty much negate *** point of paying extra for bepro).

I was talking about using wireless connections... Not the GT.

Well my current router has the same wireless spec as it and I have no problem with signal as it is so I see no reason to spend en extra £50 on nothing basically.
