Hi guys,

I have 60MB bb with VM but the super hub isn't really up to scratch for what I want to use it for, I wonder if anyone could give me some help in choosing a router for my needs:

Needs to:

- have half decent wireless
- be QoS configurable
- be able to cater for subnets larger than 255.255.255.0 (couldn't believe superhub was locked down :o)
- Budget: around £100

I'd rather have the RT-N16 over the RT-N56u, more substance over looks.

It's what I have, with TomatoUSB flashed on it.

Another +1 for the RT-N56u i have been using it for quite some time and it really is a nice piece of kit.

I've got 100mb and a superhub and the wireless was shocking! works fine in 5ghz mode but put in an old access point for the phones etc that only support 2.4

Mine works fine. Have had similar wireless teething issues though like you mentioned prime, changed the channels in advanced settings and worked fine!

I've got the RT-N66U and the RT-N56U and they are both superb, the RT-N56U is more in your budget. WIFI speeds are quick and the router is very stable. Only slight annoyance for me is no WIFI Guest Network but I think that could be added via a firmware update.

My RT-56U arrived today and the only downside so far that I've read is it doesn't support dd-wrt, but I might mess about with the custom builds on their forum...

The RT56U is great, only issue I've had is that the firmware update I did seemed to disable or hide or remove the QoS feature, (that or I can't find it), and the Network map doesn't work. Still I'm happy with the actual router, and am hoping that will be fixed in a future update.

I use to run custom firmware on my old router but I find the default fine with my RT-56U

I'm on the latest firmware and it's still available, it's under EzQoS Bandwidth Management at the left hand side, are you saying you don't have that option at all?
