Hi, recently my HTPC has been really unstable.

I only use it to watch AVI's and download stuff. It seems when I'm abouy 30 - 40 mins into a avi the whole screen just freezes so i'm forced to turn it off.

Then it has real trouble turning back on, just randomly freezes when starting up, sometimes when windows is loading other times as it is loading the software. Sometiems it can't even get into safe mode.

Last night I thought I would just reformat my C drive and start over, it was stable all today and then suddently it has happened again, which I'm assume therefore can't be a software issue ?

I have just ran memtest for 2 hours with no errors. Ran CPU burn in test with no errors ( not for very long though )

Ran the seagate surface scan and no errors.

not really sure where to go from here really, any suggestions ?

Thanks.

I've had similar problems on a HTPC when the graphics card was at fault.

Is it onboard graphics or a separate card? And do you have another to try if so?
