What screen for Gaming?

Hi all. im currently spec'ing a new build....Whats the best screen atm for gaming? does the 24" dell have good reviews for games? also what panel do i need is it ips? im not into all the lingo on panels>? i do allot of photo shop also so the dell maybe the way 2 go but does it stand up 2 say the nec 20.1" for games wise? also whats the new viewsonic like 22"?
Ib decided on the system jst not the Monitor.....
 
For gaming, accurate colour and fast response times is what you want.

TN panels like the VX922 have generally been the way to go for gaming but they suffer from bad viewing angles and colour reproduction is not 8bit on many of them, altho some have good 6bit with dithering to compensate.

But the NEC (AS-IPS panel) is one of the fastest gaming panels out there. The VX922 and a couple of others are only slightly faster. But having AS-IPS panel gives you all the other benefits too, like excellent viewing angles and very accurate colour. Also the NEC has 1:1 pixel mapping and various other tweaks :).....in short, its a the perfect panel for the price imo, whether you're a dedicated gamer or for general use. I consider mine the best purchase I've made for my computer system in a long time.

The Dell 2407 is also a very good option but if you want decent gaming in its higher native res you need a fast PC
