What second card for 970 Sli?

Looks to be a decent sized gap. You could maybe get away with another msi 970. Good case airflow will help too.
 
Aye, if you have good air flow in/out of your case, you're not going to have any trouble running another 970 on that board even with another none ref card.

Just grab another 970 the same as the one you have.
 
just remember they run at different clock speeds so you need to sync them with something like Afterburner.
Convenience of getting two the same is you dont have to worry about that.
