Well sold my xbox 360 today for £160 as it was never used and my plan was to get a logitech G19 keyboard and another xbox controller for gaming which would be the £160 used

but upon looking about i've noticed the fanatec wheels are decent prices now and seen you can get the 911 carerra wheel, pedals and 2 shifters (5 speed and sequential) for £155 delivered off ebay brand new

If yous were in this situation what would you choose?

Kinda thinking the wheel might be better as i've just got my dirt 3 code and i play F1 2011 etc and tbh, it's just a cheap logitech K200 keyboard i'm using but it does the job fine and not had any problems with it

so yeah help me come to a decision

How often do you use your pc for normal tasks like web browsing/using applications etc?

Do you prefer the use of a wheel for driving games?

Tbh if you're a heavy driving gamer i'd probably recommend the wheel (I've never liked them personally) but spending that amount on a keyboard which may not be used to it's full potential and price doesn't seem justifiable to me.

and controllers are poor for fps, rts, driving etc in my eyes..

See the controller would be for racing as i hate using a keyboard as thee is no feel ot steering

I use web browsing a lot, probs spend about 6 or more hours a day on average gaming and internet but i havent had any problems with the keyboard even in bf3 when online or playing arkham city etc

Got the problem with i could get the cheapest carerra wheel or a g27 both brand new for about the samr price range which made things more confusing, anyone on here use wheels and what sounds better between the 2? i know the fanatec ones had really bad problems with being DOA and breaking quickly but not looked into if it's fixed or not yet

I would go with the g27 if you have doubts about the Fanatec wheel. The problem is when doubt about product reliability is on the table, it always stays there you wont forget about it, 3 months after getting it you will still think about its reliability over time. Been there many times and I try to avoid such products if I can, just not to have the mental hag. That depends on where you were reading about the problems and if you trust the feedback.

Anyway, get a wheel rather then the keyboard, I use a wheel for dirt 1+2 and other driving games, there's no going back.
