Hi

Just got myself an iPhone 15pro and will be getting a MagSafe charging stand eventually, I would like to replace my old bedside clock with the iPhone using the standby feature.

Does anyone use theirs as a bedside clock?

Heard lots of people having various issues with this feature, such as not coming on when needed, not working in conjunction with sleep focus e.g.

Do I need the "always on" setting enabled, as I don't really have a need for that, would like it to come on when motion is detected if possible. Just need advice on settings.

Thanks

The settings for it are super simple.

Thank you, that motion setting is what I want then, as I don't want the display awake all night, is it pretty decent at detecting slight motion or is it a case of waving my hands in front of the screen to check the time, lol.
Why are you worried? It’s decent as I don’t notice it on at night but it comes in when I want it to.

What made you think I’m worried, I just wanted to know if the motion is good so it wakes when I want it to.

Thanks for letting me know, look forward to trying it out.

I mean no one can answer that. When you want it to wake up might be different from when I want it to wake up.

Apart from the time zone being out when I first got my 15PM with release iOS 17, it's been very typical Apple - set and forget.
