Hi All,

I'm getting myself an imac 27" core i7 (first time mac user) but is there a new imac coming out soon that i should know about first before i buy this now.

There is rumored spec update in October to upgrade the 21 model to i3, there won't be much of a spec bump then for the 27" as it's already got the highest end parts in it. The only thing they update is the graphics card as soon the 4850 will stop production so they might have to update to 5570 but you only notice the speed with games, and maybe just maybe video editing. Yesterday night I bought my iMac 27" that's how sure I am :)
 
Check out the buyer's guide on Macrumors.com (http://buyersguide.macrumors.com) if you ever want to check if there are any "due" updates. Of course they can update at any time but it's usually a sign of things to come.
