hi all

going to order my sugo this weekend but have been informed my hiper psu might be a very tight squeeze due to plug lengths

any one recommend a short psu which has around 480watt to power 6800gt and so on

pref also one without the bottom fan

OK - all ATX PSUs must be 86mm high and 150mm wide, so all you need to worry about in the length.

The Hiper is just under 160mm WITHOUT the cables and they add 25mm.

The Akasa Paxpower is 140mm long, but the cables are VERY long and there are lots of them. I had terrible trouble hiding mine away. The Enermax range look like likely candidates as they are 140mm long and the modular cabling only sticks out 15mm.

I had a Seasonic S12 430W in mine at the end though. Again 140mm long. Silverstonetek do nice Nightjar silent ones that definitely fit, but they are only 300W though.

In all honesty, pretty much anything except the Hiper will be OK. But try it before you buy a new one, it might fit.

My hiper fits in my sugo, although I had to put the dvd drive in the lower bay as to get the cables to fit properly, it's a tight squeeze but you can fit one in there. :)

yeah tom i hear it does just fit but my concern was the fan is on the base and as the cpu fan sits just under it this would cause some air flow probs resulting in higher temps

a few reveiws say use a fan with fans on the front and back and ocuks own system which is far more power hungry than what i will be putting in it use the new antec elh430 watt psu silent with just one fan

be interested in what you have mate cooler wise and emps as i might just save the hiper then

Well I have the swiftech finned heatsink with a 92mm akasa amber on it for my p4 2.8ghz, the amber is blowing down onto the cooler, and the 120mm sucking up into the hyper, so there's probably a cylcone of air not doing very good in there, at stock my temps are about 30 but at load can get up to 55 so that's not that great.

I would try reverse my fan on the cooler but it's not what the heatsink recommends and I can't be bothered sorting it all out at the moment, i'm content. I'll warn you that when the hiper get's going it's easily the loudest thing in my case, i'd swap mine for a quieter psu.
