What Should Expect From Dominator Ram?

Hi there,

Ive recently built a new machine with the following main components:

Core 2 Duo E6600
Abit AW9D Max Motherboard
2 x 1GB Corsair Dominator PC2-6400C4 TwinX

The default timings for the RAM are 4-4-4-12 which it will run at np, but can I expect these modules to do 1000MHz?I have set the voltage to 2.1v and only managed to get to around 975MHz, I've tried more relaxed timings/higher voltage (5-5-5-15/2.2v) with much the same result, what should I expect from these modules?

My BIOS is currently configured as follows:

CPU=3GHz (Default vcore)
FSB=334MHz
Multi= x9
Divider 4:5 (Ram runs at 835MHz)

Im fairly new to all of this and if anyone has any suggestions/help/tips, even with the current CPU settings etc, Iwould really appreciate it:) ???

Thanks,

Kribby.

Mine will do 1000Mhz @ 4-4-4-12 no problem using 2.2v,i now have them running @972 with my 6300@ 3.4Ghz ;)

Quite surprising considering mine have Promos ICs :eek:

Sounds like you are lucky!

Think I will end up with these, personally don't think it's worth spending anymore.

Thnx for the reply.

As I say I still have much to learn about this, when i was trying to see what I could get from the RAM I lowered my multiplier so as the CPU frequency was still low, is this the way to see what the RAM can do independant of the CPU???

Are there there any other settings I should be concerned with, such as MCH voltage etc (hope I got that right) :confused: .

As before, thnx for any advice etc you can give.
