I'm toying with the idea of building a mini ITX rig.

this case has caugt my eye.

So when building a small rig, what should i be cautious of?
Are there any things I wont be able to do in such a small case that I will regret later?

With this particular case the psu sits above the motherboard so that rules out any decent air cooler which in turn rules out any decent overclocking, also if you want to put a decent gpu in there you will probably have to lose the hdd cage, so there goes your option for tons of storage. Although its only the bottom 2 caddies i can see this case having poor airflow, because the other hdds are in the way and the gpu wont get much cool air, this will increase temps and in turn fans speeds so i can imagine a reasonabley powerful system could get quite noisey.

I have a decently powerful rig in a Lian Li of slightly smaller dimensions than that one. You need to decide from the start what you want and whether it's a realistic possibility.

For my needs I didn't need an optical drive or the storage drive cage in the PC-Q25 so I removed it. I have an 2500k at 4.5ghz with an AIO water cooler and a decent gfx card, temps are nice and low and the whole thing is pretty much silent. It's easily doable.

If it was a standard sized build then yes, I would have just ripped it off, but inserting the cooler rad and PSU multiple times to see where things would fit I thought I best leave everything on until final assembly lol.
