what should I buy?

I've been reading and reading and well you get the message.

At the moment it seems the jury is still out on the 2900xt, I'm going to upgrade soon and I'm thinking of purchasing the 2900xt or 8800gts 640,

but really i'm doubtful on whether or not ati will sort out the driver problems, whilst nvidia even with its problems is proven. Its cheaper but not by much and in some games at my res (1900x1200) gets kicked hard, whilst a few others does better (which can only suggest driver problems).

what do you guys think?

My HD2900XT arrived a few days ago, I still haven't installed it.
I was in your same situation but I finaly decided to go for the ATI card
since my last 2 cards were both ATI and both were excellent cards.

I'm sure the 2900 won't disappoint me or you.

GTS 640 imo, drivers are more established and it's not as hot...
