clearly unhappy what should i do

Looks like it has ramsinks to me.

You got the correct card by the way, that's what Asus puts on their 4870.

double edit: wait a minute, isn't that a 3870?

there is no ram sinks what so ever and it blows heated air in the case

there is 7 days return product warranty would it be possible to change the card?

edit it is 4870

GDDR5 doesn't really need memsinks, they are more for show really, plus with that cooler it'll be blowing directly onto the ram..

The GPU and Vregs are the bits that get hot and they are cooled nicely.

Bung it in, give it a go, if you don't like it you can always send it back.

That cooler is meant to be quieter than the stock one tho, only real downsize as you say is it doesn't vent out the back, but as long as you have good airflow in your case that shouldn't be a problem.

nah clearly unhappy hopefully ocuk will swap it with sapphire

Have you not read all the info? and all the comments on here?

The cooler is better than the stock one. It cools better, and it is quieter.

The mem doesn't need memsinks, its GDDR5, its low voltage, and it runs cool anyway. Not to mention the cooler from the GPU blows air over it anyway.

It has the redesigned Vregs and all solid caps for better power regulation meaning potentially better clocking.

Why would you send it back! At least fit it and give it a go!

Asus is using this design on all their cards nVidia and ATI of late, no RAM sinks, same heat sink on the power stage and the glaciator on the core...

The glaciator is very good, cool and quiet - something the 4870 desperatly needs.

From peoples experiences putting ram sinks on the RAM on these asus cards actually reduces in some cases and makes no difference in many cases to its overclocking performance!

Personally I'd keep it the uprated cooling could prevent many of the issues I've seen with the generic cooler.

Great coolers those, also has the multi phase power thingy, these guys shoud update their pic tbh as they don't come with the standard coolers now the Asus ones.
