im currently working away up in bracknell... and have signed up as a full member at the local leisure centre, mainly because i want to use the showers as i have no access to any others. but also signed up due to the fact i spend 20 hours aday in the van, weather its working or sleeping.

i have access to the pool, and gym.

so a few questions.

Whats the best way i should swim? breast stroke etc whats the best for a all over work out.

also, if i get to the gym and just spend an hour on the tredmill and rowing machine will it make any difference? is it worth me doing it?

also how many lenghs of the pool should i aim for when going for a swim. i did 34 today but i only had about 25mins.

I don't know much about swimming, other than that I find it very tiring (crawl more tiring than breast stroke) but I would say that spending an hour on the treadmill will undoubtedly make a difference to your fitness. It will depend somewhat on the intensity that you work at but what sort of difference do you want it to make?

If you can be more specific about what you want to gain from it, there are lot of knowledgable individuals on here that will be able to give you good advise.

I would say it depends on the individual as to how many lengths you should aim for. Try it and see how you get on. If you managed 34 in 25 minutes, try doing that again; if you find it too easy, try doing some more. Try longer durations etc and see what feels hard to you.
