What should I do…. What would you do?

I have 2 cars. A 56 plate Vectra, has an oil leak, smell of fuel inside but engine is in great nick. Its 150bhp SRI really decent car tbh.

HOWEVER: It needs naturally the oil leak sorted and fuel but also needs a new DMF. I can get it done reliably for £600.

I also have a very well looked after 53plate Mondeo, DMF changed 3 years ago, 100,000miles…No problems at all.

I’ve bought a new car Dacia Duster (each to their own)……

a) Sell the Mondeo use the money to fix the Vectra
b) It’s a Vauxhall, burn it and never go back again. Mondeo works great, stick with that

Alternatively, sell both the Mondeo and the Vectra? Do you need 2 (currently 3) mundane cars?

Option B of course, no one should have the displeasure of owning a Vectra.

What do you need two cars for? Assuming the new Duster is for commuting and the like, why would you choose to drive the other two (And is the point of owning and maintaining more than one car worth it)

Wife is having the duster for school run, commute to work. I'm having one of the other cars.

I like them, friend has one been brilliant and is a great affordable price tbh.

Sure the Vauxhall has an oil leak and not just burning oil ? Assuming it's the direct injection variant of the 2.2 Z22SE - they pretty much all seem to drink oil.
