I’m awaiting delivery of a lovely new PC from OCUK.

I’m dismantling an 8 year old Acer in the meantime. The mobo is gone but the GPU and PSU were pretty new so I’m keeping them as spares to build a PC for the kids. Also the DVD R drive.

Im left a with three Kingston 2GB DDR3 sticks, an i5-650 processor, a crappy AVC air cooler and a little Wi-fi card, brand is Anatel. Oh, and an old Acer case.

Are these RAM sticks and CPU worth anything? Does anyone have use for such components today? Or shall I just dispose in the correct bin at the tip?

I almost forgot... there is also a GT320 card! 1024MB :)

Anyway, I’ve since looked on eBay to discover the stuff is worth very little. To the tip, then.

Run belarc and recover your Windows / Office keys, if nothing else.

Thanks for the tip. I will do that. I’m planning to hook the old HD up to the new PC as a slave first of all and transfer my iTunes library/photos etc. I didn’t think to grab the licence keys.

I’ve stuck the CPU and RAM on an auction site, for what it’s worth (might just about pay for a new PC game :) )
