I have a very old PC that I found in my broken shed...

I put it back together and it boots.. however I get loads of errors and I want to know what I should do with it: a) sell b) bin c)throw into apple HQ

the mobo: HT2000 mcp61pm-am rev 1.0A
gpu: 8500GT
1GB DDR2 (512x2)
athlon 64 x2

i deally i would put it an old case and an old psu however its pretty Star out swear words. and mobo looks like ****. i mean mobos rusty lol..

could i replace mobo and then I could have a working old PC? could use it to hold lots of data for CCTV etc.. (sata 133 tho)

here is the piece of ****:

im only opening this post because it takes up space in my garage and if i can get it working i can hide it away as a server with a power plug to it

No I mean some hardware is literally ****ed it does not work anymore.. scroll through the pictures on the imgur link and you'll see.. well if i can isolate the problem and then I might keep it but if the entire system is bucked up then ill have to mash it up and eat it

got any ideas to test if its a bad mobo or ram? i've got 2 spare 160gb hdds, a spare decent PSU and a spare case to put it in.. got no ideas how i can test the mobo, or the ddr2 ram.

anyways would it matter if i just bought the cheapest am2 ddr2 motherboard available or should i get a decent one and why

Why is some DDR2 so cheap? You can buy 1.8v chinese (lifetime warranty) DDR2 ram for as little as £20 yet server ram costs around £50-100 so whats the reason behind such cheapness?
