Ok i have a 7800GTX 256MB BFG card, now should i get another 7800GTX in SLi or get a 7900GTX 512MB or any other options eg 7950 or X1900 etc, got a Dell 24" so play games at high res

It is an upgrade, but for the performace increase its not worth it, id either go for the x1900/7900 GTX, or if you want bags of eye candy at uber widescreen resolutions, then the 7950 GX2 can't be touched. :)

I would get the HIS radeon x1800xt 512mb from here for £205 inc vat
This card will be useless at the res he wants to game at so why suggest it?
Not much faster than the card he has either.

The card to get is the GX2 7950,Will be great for that resolution too.
I have one on its way!

Stick with what you have, it's a great card and should easily last until the middle of next year (when DirectX 10 games begin to proliferate.) If you just have to upgrade though, going from a 7800GTX to anything short of a 7900GTX or X1900XT wouldn't be worth it at all.

Adding a second 7800GTX would be a good option too, if you can find one for a decent price.

i think even the 7800gtx will start to struggle in very recent games such as oblivion or condemned for instance, 1920x1200 is one hell of a resolution for a single card to power

by far the best and cheapest course of action as long as you have a good enough PSU, the only thing that would be better than this option is to upgrade to a 7950 and thats a lot of money

no, afaik you can use any 7800gtx from any board partner now with the recent drivers going back a little while now too. im pretty sure though, that if you got a slower clocked card, the faster card would auto match the slower cards clocks. but having never has SLi i cant say for deffinate, im sure someone will put you right if im wrong though

I'd go with adding a 7800gtx for now and then upgrade to a dx10 card when they eventually arrive! 7800's in sli should work fine at that high res! :)
