i have a xp system:, Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2, OCZ 4Gb (only 2 in use due to mobo restrictions, at 225mhz) and efectively no graphics card, and a 3.4ghz prescott (9550).. now i'm looking for a big performance increase because i've been playign on a x1950 pro (agp) but this has broken.... so what should i do... my budget is around £150.. £170 deffinately the ceiling the xp version i'm runnign is x32, but i dont think it is oem, as i have already changed motherboards with no reprocutions...
so my options are:
1) buy a new motherboard (asus p5k) and an e1280, and buy a cheap, £20 card.. and wait till july for my bday and get a very good card
2) buy a averagely good card, for example a 3870 or 8800gt, i lean towards a 3870, as this will enable be to run crossifre, as i will most probably buy a p5k motherboard, but then again i would be waiting till july, so who knows whats going to happen....
as you can see im confused, any suggestions?..
