Hi peeps,

A question

I currently have a msi gaming 5 MOBO and an i5 [email protected] and a sapphire tri x r9 290.

Ive got a bit of spare cash and was originally going to upgrade to the bundle on ocuk that consists of a i7 7700k and rog strix z270f. After speaking to a mate of mine he reckons i should just overclock my current cpu and buy a asus gtx 1080 instead as he reckons ill see more benefit from doing it that way

Im using it for gaming and streaming and general day to day stuff.

What do you people of such wise wisdom say ??

You will definitely see more of an improvement in games by upgrading to a 1080.

yea i get that but what would benifit me more upgrading the Card or the cpu and mobo ?

yea ive been looking about i reckon i get better cooling OC my cpu and get the 1080...= job done

Get that cpu overclocked as well. You should hit 4.5Ghz with adequate cooling.

anyone recommend a good programme to stress test after the OC ?

I like Linx for final testing. You can use the likes of Asus Realbench but I found that while I could get my 4790k stable in Realbench at 4.9Ghz it fails Linx at anything over 4.6Ghz.
