Hi all ive got a Zotac AMP GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB GDDR3 but i feel i need an upgrade i was thinking of maybe trying ATI but ive never used one so im not sure , altho the price diffrence compared to the Geforce is massive i have to admit , could u point me in the right direction for a good upgrade from what i have got , ATI or Nvidia.

Agreed, GTS512 and 4850 are fairly close and wouldn't constitute an upgrade imo. 4879 will give you the boost you are looking for.

That all depends though, what res you playing at? The GTS should handle everything fine (Crysis excepted) up to 1680x1050.
 
Im using 1680x1050 res ill post the specs on my computer , and ill think i will get a ATI 4870 , im just wondering tho ive played Cysis on Max settings everything but can only seem to run it in 1024x768 if i go any res higher it just slows to the point of not moving... wasnt sure if this was due to me having my computer setup wrong or what not.

Sorry - meant wouldn't the 4870 be wasted on that CPU? Surely good to put some money towards a platform upgrade, no?
