I have the G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 RAM and was wondering what speed it should be set to in the BIOS of my Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard?

on the Everest benchmarks it's being read as:
Core 2 Duo E6600 3066 MHz Asus P5W DH Deluxe i975X Dual DDR2-681 5-4-4-15

Any help on any settings that need changing would be appreciated.

2 options, drop the multi and bring the FSB up to 400. Set the timings manually to 4,4,4,8 (cas, TRP, TRCD, TRAS) and give the ram 2.1v.
Secondly, again set timings manually and up voltage, but push the ram up to the 667 memory divider. You'll be running the ram slightly over spec but it should cope ok :)

If you can get the CPU to 3.2ghz (should be fairly easy tbh) then the 1st option will probably be the better bet :)

This is probably gonna sound idiotic, but where the hell is the divider? It's currently set to 9, I take it you want me to drop it to 8, but there's no visable option.

Yes, I'm fairly new to overclocking, especially with ASUS boards and it's confuzzled me. I see all the other options bar the multiplier.

First off make sure you've got the latest bios. Pretty sure this gives you multi options on the P5W (sorry, should have checked before giving recommendations)

*think* its the "CPU" option in the "advanced" section of the bios.
Should be an option - modify ratio support. Ensure that's enabled and you should have 6-Stock multi's available.

You are indeed correct, you'd need to drop the multi to 8 :)
